The Creggan area is steeped in a rich abundance of culture and heritage. An Creagán Visitor centre hosts a number of cultural activities as outlined in our Calendar of Events. Also within the Creggan area there are a number of Walking and Cycling routes which incorporate local archaeological sites. The centre offers an annual programme of cultural events incorporating;

  • Traditional music and song
  • Traditional storytelling
  • Irish dancing
  • Traditional arts and crafts
  • Irish language lectures and courses
  • Countryside walking
  • Archaeology/history tours and lectures
  • Environmental walks

Included in the events programme are several annual seasonal festivals;

  • Bealtaine (ancient celtic fire festival) - May (first weekend)
  • An Creagán Mid summer festival - June (third weekend)
  • An Creagán Irish cultural festival - September (first weekend)
  • Féile An Fhómhair of traditional Irish music - October (second weekend)
