The frogs seem to appear from nowhere at this time of year. First to appear are the males, who arrive in the pond as soon as there is an increase in temperature. For just a few days they can be heard singing their low, croaking harmonies in an attempt to attract the egg-laden females...

December At An Creagan. The resilience of the plants and animals becomes apparent at this time of year. Even in thick snow and temperatures of -15oC the wildlife still survives. The frogs and newts are now in deep hibernation.

November at An Creagan. The days have really closed in now. You don’t get many daylight hours to get out and enjoy the countryside at this time of year but when you do sometimes you get rewarded with the most beautiful skyscapes from the low Sun.
