Fionnuala & Mick's Wedding 15th June 2019

Ceremony

An Creagán

Reception

An Creagán

Why An Creagán?

An Creagán is close to home for both our family and friends and is in a beautiful wild and unspoilt location at the foothills of the Sperrins. We have always found the food to be beautiful, the staff lovely and the walkways and forests charming.

I have had a long affiliation with An Creagán and attended my first Creative Writing class there with a facilitator called John Bradbury. I credit this with eventually leading me to getting my own novels published as it gave me the confidence, motivation and drive to keep pursuing my dreams. Little did I know that three years later An Creagán would be holding a launch in honour of my first book being published. Anyone for Seconds? was a bestseller and four years later with another two books published along with several short stories I was in the privileged position of being asked to be the Author in Residence in An Creagán where I facilitated classes and workshops and delivered one to one mentoring sessions to participants.

An Creagán has a very special place in both our hearts and we are so happy we chose it as our wedding venue. There were many memorable moments during our day but for me performing the Celtic hand fastening ritual with our children during our ceremony was very symbolic and beautiful as family means everything to us. We also loved the music provided and the food was amazing.

The Dream Team

Spiritual Ceremonies: Rosheen Mason was our celebrant and we couldn't have asked for a more professional, empathetic and lovely person to deal with before, during and after our ceremony. She helped us to make our vows in the most personal way possible whilst remaining true to ourselves in a celebration that perfectly reflected who we are in an intimate and beautiful way.

Wedding Planner: Caitriona McDermott

We couldn't have asked for a better organiser and mistress of ceremonies than Caitriona. She was on hand to answer any questions we had whilst making suggestions and doing her utmost to ensure that we could enjoy the run up to our wedding without getting bogged down with the finer details. On the day she was a fantastic host and her attentive manner was noticed by everyone.

Music: Ciara Fox, Carrickmore, provided beautiful Irish traditional love songs during our ceremony and pre-reception.

Kevin Hurson and his band, Galbally, played in the evening and they also provided the disco which was enjoyed by everyone.

Wedding Cake: Rachel Molloy from Cafe No 47, Donaghmore provided three different flavours of cake in strawberry and white chocolate, lemon drizzle and chocolate fudge which were all delicious.

Photographer: Jim Hamill, Donaghmore. Jim is an excellent photographer who has a fabulous and innovative way of recording memorable occasions. We have used him many times and never been disappointed.

Videographer: Damian Grimes, Carrickmore captured our day for us from leaving the cottages on the morning of the wedding until the band stopped playing that evening.

Dresses: Creative Ideas, Armagh provided both the bride's wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses. Dee and the staff couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating and we received compliments on our gowns all day.

Brides Headdress and shoes were designed and customised by her very talented friend Andrea Givan. Andrea also makes jewellery, marino wool dolls and paints as well as offering Angel card readings and shamanic healings.

Suits: SD Kells, Omagh. Stanley, Stephen and his team were a pleasure to deal with and provided wonderful help and guidance throughout any meetings with them. A polished and highly recommended service for any special occasion.

Wedding Stationery: We bought our stationery from Aldi in Donegal last year and I did the calligraphy on them myself.

Ceremony Booklets: Noel Comac, Donaghmore, designed our wedding booklets and we were extremely happy with the graphics, writing and printing (which was done by ES Print, Dungannon).

Room Dressing: Wooden Treats and Rustic Weddings, Dromore. We visited Donna's show room and fell in love with the authentic and unique decor she had which could compliment any wedding.

Bespoke Entertainment :Colin Hassard for performance poetry and Ed Masters who was our illusionist who provided our after dinner entertainment before our evening reception started. Both are friends of mine and both did us proud with their skills. They were a real talking point and made our day so much more special.

Beauty: Hair was Colleen Mullen from the International Hairport in Benburb.

Make up was by Jenna Herron.

Both ladies came to the cottage in An Creagán the morning of the wedding to help us and we were so grateful to them.

I'd like to give every one involved a wee mention as they all had a vital part to play and helped collectively to make our day special.

Would you reccommend us?

As the bride and groom we would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone involved in our wedding. It surpassed all our expectations in terms of the organisation, attention to detail and service. The staff were friendly and welcoming and so attentive to us and all our guests and Caitriona and John were by our sides throughout the day and in the days before and couldn't do enough to help us! Stephen McNally is an amazing chef and did a wonderful job as the food is still being discussed far and wide...it was hot on arrival, the beef melted in your mouth and there were plenty of waiting staff offering extra portions. We were delighted with everything...a beautiful location, excellent staff and service, food that a Michelin star couldn't rival and the most genuinely lovely people to deal with in John and Caitriona. The cottages are also worth a visit and the ideal rustic retreat. We stayed the night before the wedding and the two nights after and it was truly a wonderful experience. Thanks again An Creagán...you have all been amazing. With all our love Mr and Mrs Boyle ?
