Allow pupils a taste of how life developed in Ireland, beginning in the chilly Ice Age, moving through both the Neolithic and Mesolithic periods and finishing off in the Bronze Age.

Proceedings kick off with a short presentation on life in Early times followed by participation in a number of interactive activities including a prehistoric clay pottery workshop, a chance to experience natural weaving and learn how fabrics were made and dyed using natural materials.

Other activities included are:
Mock excavations Neolithic tool making
Building wattle & daub structures Stone rubbings
Flint knapping Jewellery making
Creating Neolithic designs

A visit to the local Bronze Age site, Beaghmore stone circles can also be incorporated into the visit.
