The Maths Trails developed at An Creagan have been a resounding success! Currently there are four trails available, allowing children to consolidate their mathematical ideas using practical maths. The Red Trail caters for a primary 4 class, the Green one caters for primary 5&6 pupils, the Blue is more suitable for primary 6 & 7 children and the Purple Trail is designed specifically to meet the needs of children with Special Educational Needs. They all incorporate elements of number, money, patterns, area, time relationships & Sequences, shape and space, measures and handling data. Children are put into mixed ability groups and all questions are centred around the centre.

Mathematical Activities using outdoor inspiration can complement classroom-based work to provide well-rounded experiences.
