Grandparent & Toddler Sessions

Grandparent & Toddler Sessions

A Weekly Treat for Grandparents and Toddlers at An Creagán

Often these days it’s the Grandparents who are left holding the baby. With busy lifestyles and working parents, many grandparents are taking on the role of childminder. Not always an easy task for those who thought their nappy changing days were over! And what do you do all day that doesn’t cost a fortune? The Rural Revival project at An Creagán aims to provide an outlet for busy little hands through its weekly Grandparent and Toddler sessions. Every Wednesday there will be active play sessions where everyone can get stuck in to arts and crafts, music, movement, nature crafts and messy fun. Juice and a snack is provided for children and a cup of tea for the grownups. The best part is that it’s all free and the staff do the tidying up, so no more glitter in the shag-pile or glue down the back of the sofa!

While the February and March sessions are mainly indoors the spring sessions will be much more outdoor based with muddy puddle play parties in the Wild Woods and snacks cooked over the campfire.

The sessions take place each Wednesday , 10.00am to 11.30am starting on the 5th February for 6 weeks. All are welcome to come along and join in but advanced registration is required. The centre can be contacted on 028 8076 1112 or email: The Grandparent and Toddler sessions are part of the Rural Revival project which is funded by the Big Lottery Community Fund.
