Colum Sands and Lily Neil

Colum Sands and Lily Neil weave the strings of guitar and harp around a tapestry of songs, tunes and stories to brighten a dark November night.

Colum's original songs and stories draw on a lifetime of travel and performances from small folk clubs to venues like Carnegie Hall, New York.

His thought provoking and often humorous observations are inspired by the people and places he has encountered in countless situations, whether between the hedges of country lanes in his native County Down or on the streets of towns and cities around the world.

Lily Neil is an outstanding musician and composer who, at the age of three, told her family she was going to play the harp and then set about demonstrating her intent by making one for herself from a shoebox and rubber bands!

Since then she has embraced and explored the endless possibilities of her chosen instrument, from the University of Limerick and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki to the concert halls of the world, guesting with Derek Bell and the Chieftains whilst still a teenager and performing for Bill Clinton in Washington DC and for President Mary McAleese in Russia.

Colum Sands and Lily Neil in concert is a shared experience of the colours of countless musical miles in the specially chosen spaces of intimate venues on winter nights. On this, their first tour together, it promises to be an evening to warm the heart.
