Our Interpretative Exhibition

Free Entry & Open Daily 11am 5pm

Before you go on a journey of exploration of the wider region, a must is a visit to the interactive exhibition on site, which will enrich your experience. With its audio visual and interpretative displays you will discover the uniqueness of this fascinating landscape, which is dominated by bogland and sits on the sites of a glacial esker, deposited here during the last ice age over 10,000 years ago. You will also have the opportunity to see some of the artifacts that were uncovered from one of the many ancient archaeology sites close to An Creagán, dating back to the Ice Age and Bronze Age. You will also have the opportunity to be brought back in time to find out more about some old traditions and cultures of by gone times.

The exhibition interprets the prehistoric monuments, natural environment, heritage and culture of the Creggan region. The exhibition is presented with wall mounted illustrations and information, selection of artefacts, short films and touch screen information.

Guided tours of the exhibition and archaeological sites are available for groups.
